Statue Making Process

Statue making involves many processes. The process starts with the roughing out of the marble by skilled sculptors who are highly trained in this process. In this stage the sculptors skillfully use chisels and mallets to make an outline of the idol. In the next stage, which is the refining stage, they use clawed chisels and calipers to smoothen the surfaces. In the final stage, they use rasps and rifflers to carve out the final shape of statues.
